Resplendent Renovation
This newly purchased house needed a complete renovation.
The owner requested that we leave its bones intact and incorporate as much of the existing interior as we possibly could. We built our design around the existing floor tiles, which would have been an enormous expense to replace, while layering in finishes and colors that were compatible.
We added fresh wallcovering, light fixtures and a rug in the dining room, and painted the dining chairs to match the original table so those items did not need to be replaced. We worked within the blue palette requested by the client, adding a whimsical punch of orange in the den. To achieve the desired look and exact size, I tapped one of my specialties and custom designed the dining room buffet to add into my Shayla Copas Collection for Chelsea House. The client was thrilled to have an interior designer as well as a product designer rolled into one! In the kitchen we kept the cabinets to save the expense yet painted them a fresh grey to update.
