Seersucker Social
When evenings grow warmer in the South, we see an increasing number of seersucker themed gatherings.
I like to push aside the expected and, in this case, add a healthy dose of Southern glam. For this Seersucker Social, a palate of hot coral with varying shades of blue, cream, and crisp white were selected. Homeowners Kathryn and Paul Johnston had a gorgeous blue and white porcelain throughout their traditional home that was used for a place setting full of treasures. Florals were in abundance while the menu was full of small bites and bubbly.
Highlights
Florals are an important element of this tablescape design with coral garden roses, oranges, ranunculus, and blue hydrangeas among the floral goodness supplied. The menu included small bites with champagne cocktails and a social fare of tomato aspic, Berkshire pork and bread pudding adorned with fruit and edible flowers.
Inspiration
Guests attired in stripes, checks, and pastels arrive anxious to sip wine and enjoy the culinary tastes of the season. Seersucker is a traditional Southern fabric, making it a natural for the garden-inspired party.
