AR Governor’s Mansion

For Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson’s office, we worked to accommodate the Governor’s request for a space that would provide his guests a formal yet welcoming meeting space.

To this end, we created a design plan that incorporated unique designer elements as well as many to complement already existing pieces in the space. The primary rug at the center of the office was used as inspiration as well as a foundation for the entirety of the design plan.  Included within the coloration of the rug were bold reds, blues, golds and cream. We specified a subtle wallcovering in a pearlized gold tone that served as a blank canvas upon which color throughout the office could be layered.  A piece of Matt Coburn’s artwork donated by the artist was highlighted within the space. Custom designed and embroidered pillows with the state emblem were selected to sit proudly on the chairs next to the Governor’s desk. A mahogany credenza by Arkansas craftsman, Tommy Farrell, was specified for the project.
